Founder & Executive Director
U.S. Marine Corps Veteran | Nonprofit Founder | Community Leader
Healing Involves Perseverance, Inc. (HIP, Inc.) was founded by Candice Rogers, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, community leader, and longtime public servant with a passion for helping individuals and families persevere through life's challenges.
Candice's commitment to service began long before HIP, Inc. She proudly served in the United States Marine Corps for more than a decade, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. Following her military service, she continued her career in public service, building extensive professional experience in equal opportunity, civil rights, investigations, leadership, and program administration.
As a minority woman, veteran, mother, and community advocate, Candice understands the importance of opportunity, encouragement, access to resources, and having a strong support system. Those experiences helped inspire the creation of Healing Involves Perseverance, Inc. in 2018.
What began with a desire to provide encouragement and support has continued to grow into a nonprofit organization serving individuals, families, students, veterans, seniors, and communities through a variety of programs and outreach initiatives.
Today, Candice leads HIP, Inc. as its Founder and Executive Director, guiding the organization's continued growth and the development of programs such as the HIP Academic Success Program, Women's Support Group, Book Club, Employment Assistance, and community outreach initiatives.
Her vision for HIP, Inc. is rooted in a simple belief: with support, opportunity, compassion, and perseverance, individuals and communities can continue moving forward, even through life's most difficult seasons.
